You're adding that but adding things to the NT is nothing new; it's how the NT was written, after all. Take stories about Jesus and revise them to fit the Church's narrative or, just make up whatever story is needed at the time.

I agree that Jesus came to heal the sick, including those who are sick in Spirit.
