You're absolutely right, huge changes do need to be made now, not next year...

The fossil fuel industry is the cause of 70%+/- of the CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere, but Big Oil has owned a lot of Congressmen since the 1930s and it hasn't gotten any better. A "small change" that definitely helps is to drive fuel efficient cars instead of gas-guzzling pickup trucks and huge, luxury SUVs. Take away some of their obscene profits- which would require a great number of people to do- and less fossil fuel is burned for transportation.

The same at home, a lot of "little changes" can be made. When you have to drive, do it as little as possible, combine multiple stops into the same trip. Then multiply your "small change"- things we should do anyway, if just to save money, by a hundred million or so in America alone (hopefully more) and your "small change" contributes to a "huge difference" .

But yeah, I agree with you. The world's on a collision course with threats from every side.

We have to be sure to vote for the right politicians.

I'll still be doing a lot of those "little changes". At this point, it can't hurt.
