You did read those words or hear them. From President Biden. What you didn't read or hear (although it has been written about in many news and economic publications/articles) is how long it will take to force Russia's economy to its knees.

Months, probably before the end of this year or in 2023.

The momentum carried by an economy as large as Russia's (although it has never been as large as Russia claimed, just as its military was portrayed as the Russian "Bear" that shouldn't be "poked" but turned out to be a young, starving cub) can't be stopped on a dime any more than a cargo ship can make a sharp right turn. It takes time but it will happen. Rome was neither built nor destroyed "in a day"- I'm not comparing Russia to Rome, although it has traditionally been considered by the Russian Orthodox Church the continuation of of the Eastern Roman Empire and Putin claims to be the modern Peter the Great. Putin and the Kremlin can only prop up their economy for so long and will continue to use propaganda to convince Russians that the current tough times and suffering are due to the U.S. and the U.S. alone. Russia's line is that European nations are vassal states of America and do as their Master, the U.S., orders them to do.

Just try saying that a German or citizen of any othe NATO or non-NATO nation.
