“What do Progressives do, if the Democratic Party and the cooperative media quash Sanders’ bid and insert a conservative neoliberal as our only practical alternative to Trump? What is our best choice? In such a case, Progressives have two options:

  1. Vote for Trump and assure that the fascist state consolidates in a timely fashion, prompting its eventual overthrow in the traditional bloody revolution.
  2. Vote for the conservative Democrat who, consistent with Democratic Party tradition, will simply delay the revolution by four years.”

Nice strawman you’ve set up there. Maybe you should know the definitions of terms before you attempt to sway others with you rhetoric. The “neo-liberals” are Trump and his Republican backers, not Democratic candidates. Not a single one of them are neo-liberal. Nor are they quite as far left as Bernie but they do want to get things done and know that without the Senate, nothing will ever get to the President to sign.

You seem to have either misunderstood those terms or want to twist their meaning to use them as a simple, incorrect way to paint any candidate other than Bernie as unsuitable, bad, actually. And there is nothing “progressive” about that.

Now to those definitions you’ve ignored or twisted:

“Neoliberalism is generally associated with policies of economic liberalization, including privatization, deregulation, free trade, austerity, and reductions in government spending in order to increase the role of the private sector in the economy and society.

ADJECTIVE
favoring policies that promote free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending.
“neoliberal economists”
NOUN
an advocate or supporter of free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending.
“neoliberals believe that business is often overregulated and welfare is underregulated”

it is most commonly associated with laissez-faire economics

Neoliberalism is a policy model — bridging politics, social studies, and economics — that seeks to transfer control of economic factors to the private sector from the public sector.

CENTRIST

The Centrist Party gives a foundation to mainstream America for a political party that makes sense. Solutions can be more easily achieved when not convoluted by partisan bickering and single minded agendas.

Nov 02, 2019 · Political centrism is a viewpoint which tends to avoid extremes on both the left and right of the political spectrum. Centrists may also be labeled as “political moderates” due to a combination of both conservative and liberal opinions, as well as a lack of distinct ideological orientation

Centrism is not about doing what is popular, it is about doing what is right.
Centrism is not moderate but rather supports strength, tradition, open mindedness and policy based on evidence not ideology.
Centrism is not about compromise but rather allows for it as reasonable.
Centrists are independent thinkers. They gauge situations based on context and reason, consideration and probability. They are open minded and exercise conviction. Willing to fight for reason as opposed to ideology.
Ideology limits the capacity of reasoning
Centrist conviction is not limited by ideology
Reasoning is based on pragmatic reality and circumstance.

I have no issue with you supporting Bernie but I’ll be voting for the Democrat, no matter who he or she may be. That’s my civic duty and I refuse to abandon it to ideological fears. I don’t support a theory of “burn it all down and we’ll build something from the ashes”. Ash is just that; ash. And ash has no real use except as landfill.
