We can't leave NASCAR out of the discussion of taxpayer supported shams (scams/frauds/swindles?). Privately- family- owned, it's set up as a non-profit. The proceeds (huge proceeds) go to the family, tax free. And the raceways are publicly funded. And the races do bring some business to the localituies- once a year.
