Very Gnostic Gospels of you, Dan. And I mean the gnostic gospels that stress a final, epic spiritual battle between light and dark, good and evil. That battle takes place in our hearts every moment of every day, in the things we do and the way we live our lives on this plane of existence.
I subscribe to your newsletter and read everything you publish on Medium but I think you 'missed the ball' on this one. I know you're simply questioning things you've been taught, have seen for yourself, and not trying to convince anyone so of course I'll continue to follow your writings and musings, many of which I fully agree with, but demons? Really? I think the church still has its hooks in you, Dan. To your credit and a sign of your honesty you do explore other possibilities.
No one needs Jesus to 'save' their souls because he said so himself- a little fact that we aren't taught in church because it isn't profitable to the church. People need God and are meant to worship God, not Jesus, and certainly shouldn't be fooled into thinking there's an actual Hell, which is what the belief in Satan and demons implies, other than the Heaven or Hell we live in this physical life.
