Then you take a narrow view of the definition of racism. It goes both ways, not just from Whites to Blacks. The writer singles out Whites as being somehow inferior to Blacks; that’s being racist whether she or you or anyone else recognizes it as such or not. I first called out the writer for claiming that ALL White liberals are the same as the extreme NON-liberal Whites. And I stand by that statement because it’s true. I am not the same as a Trump follower and take offense at being told that I am. Are YOU the same as ALL other POC? Of course you’re not and I wouldn’t never claim that you are. That would be racist.
“Racism is the belief that groups of humans possess different behavioral traits corresponding to physical appearance and can be divided based on the superiority of one race over another. It may also mean prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against other people because they are of a different race or ethnicity. Modern variants of racism are often based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. These views can take the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems in which different races are ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities.”
“Prejudice” isn’t always racism in that many people can be prejudiced toward others for any number of reasons besides race.
Racism and xenophobia are outgrowths of the tribalism inherent in all humans. Prejudice is a choice and often that choice is racist but not always.
