"That's your belief. "

More than just "my" belief. Try, the belief of billions of people.

" I have seen not one bit of evidence for it,"

So? I've experienced it and know that even advanced physics doesn't rule out there being a cause that started everything. And the belief in a soul that doesn't die, although not as widely accepted, isn't ruled out by either Classic or Quantum physics, either.

And your claim is that you've seen all there is to see? I think not and to display such arrogance is not becoming of anyone other than a fool. Because a thing cannot, YET, be measured and replicated by our currently known 'scientific' method does not mean said thing does not exist. Even Einstein claimed the quantum physics wasn't a 'thing', wasn't even possible because it didn't fit into his theories, yet- it EXISTS as he later came to believe. There's that silly concept of "belief" again.

Your claim is that what you've seen proves a negative, although a negative cannot be proven. Basic logic, if you recall that from your education. So much for your claim that those of "exceptional intelligence" and "higher education" agree with your view, but, big surprise, a great many don't. If you want to lean on natural, innate intelligence then I won't bother informing you of my IQ score because it just may depress you to know that, by that standard, mine most likely far exceeds your 'score'. Any score above 160 is considered unreliable because it falls far outside the norm so at a mere 168, I don't take my score seriously. And higher education is a benefit of socio-economic status, not intelligence alone. I have a mere Masters Degree and was, of course, an Honor's student. But I found most of the Honor's students at university to be simply arrogant, much like you, so I spent very little time among that group. I suspect you would've been one of those arrogant ones whom I avoided.

"There is nothing but the present moment."

Another bubble to burst for you- the "present" doesn't exist. We live in the past, barely in the past but the past nonetheless. As you read these words, you're reading them in the "past" because time does not stop for you or anyone else, no matter how "special" you happen to be. And you are a "special" one, aren't you? You certainly seem to believe that. Oh, there's that damn word again, belief.

You have no idea what happens after death, just as the medieval Church had no idea the earth wasn't the center of the universe until Galileo tried to convince his patrons otherwise. You would've fit in well with the same mindset as Church bishops held, 1,000 years or so ago. The mindset of ignorance and refusal to believe anything that doesn't fit your view of the universe and a refusal to accept such.

And please, for your own benefit, think deeply on the fact that every 'moment' is merely subjective, belief. because, in reality, it doesn't exist. I'm all for 'living in the moment' and believe it's the best way to live but I also now that's a misnomer since no 'moment' truly exists. It's merely hoe you perceive the passage of time. And I suppose I've wasted enough time replying to you since you have your own "beliefs" about those things you deny are real and are unlikely to change those deeply held "beliefs" anytime soon, so do have a good day.
