Thanks for your reply, David. I was specifically referring to Luke 18:19 "Jesus spoke to a man who had called him ‘good,’ asking him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.’

But there are many places in the OT and NT where Jesus is referred to as a man, not co-equal of God and the phrase 'son of man' is applied to many, many people.

I believe Jesus developed to the point of 'Christ consciousness', not the only and only 'Christ' since all men can develop to the point of 'Christ consciousness' yet none will be God. God is One. And no man needs Jesus to find God. What of all the people born before Jesus who never knew him? Did not Abraham, David, Saul, Solomon, Moses and so many thousands more have a relationship with God? Yet not one of them ever met or knew or needed Jesus to know God.

God is not and will never be a man. Jesus was a man with 'Christ consciousness', something anyone can attain but few do.

And there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Me. Look to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.’ (Isaiah 45:21-22, Jonah 3:5-10)

‘God is not a man’ (Numbers 23:19)

‘For I am God, and not man’ (Hosea 11:9)

All four Gospels record Jesus as saying, "Blessed are the peace-makers; they will be called sons of God."

‘Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.’ (Acts 2:22)

‘a man who has told you the truth’ (John 8:40)

God is One and there can be none beside (equal to) Him. Man can reach 'Christ consciousness', as Jesus did and therefore have a close relationship with God but no man, Jesus included, can be God.

The Greek word translated as "son" meant "servant", as in "servant of God", not a one and only "Son" of God.

All humans can be 'children of the Light', Children of God, if they so choose to seek 'Christ consciousness'.

Jesus showed the Way to achieve 'Christ consciousness'. He wasn't and never claimed to be the Way. He isn't going to 'save' anyone's soul, that's up to each person to do on their own but he did show the Way through the life he lived.
