No, your vote isn't "worthless"; it's just worth less than a vote in a lower population state. If, for example, a state has 4 million voters and a state has 40 million voters then the state with 40 million voters have to cast 10 votes to be of the same value as a single voter in the state with 4 million voters. That's blatantly unfair and something needs to change to correct it.

There has never, in recorded history, been a true democratic government, which is why we don't have that here. NO single citizen can possibly be expected, and wouldn't be able to, understand the multitude and complexity of issues that are involved in governing any nation which is why we have a, in name at least, Representative Republic- Not a true democracy But, it no longer fairly 'represents' all citizens. Nor did it when the Constitution was signed. Only landowners could vote, only white men could vote but at that time women were chattel, property, and blacks were 'owned', property. I don't and can't expect my highly trained doctor to repair my vehicle any more than I'd want my highly trained auto mechanic to be my doctor. So, no true democracy in those decisions because I didn't hold a vote on which one should do which job.

And I think you're misunderstanding the one-person one-vote idea. It's an attempt to make voting fair for ALL. Even for you so your vote will count as much as any other voter's. This nation should NOT be controlled by a minority of citizens- 33% of the voters control the other 67%. Is THAT fair?
