Most major auto companies are investing in EV and producing non-ICE vehicles at less cost and higher quality than Teslas. I'm not saying that Tesla doesn't make good EVs but their styling is sorely lacking. The "Cybertruck"- a joke. Ford's F150 EV has stopped taking orders because it has a two-year waiting list. And the base model costs far less than the ICE pickup trucks being sold now. I was "ahead" in Tesla stock, too, but nowhere near your 50k. I sold the last Tesla stock I owned this afternoon, in part because of the drop in stock value and in part because I can't stand the arrogant man who has been subsidized with billions of taxpayer dollars but claims to be a "self-made billionaire".

SpaceX is a great company, but it didn't invent the Falcon 9 rocket it uses and was paid $6 billion dollars in subsidies- which is fine because SpaceX (the company Musk purchased, not built) fills a need, as does Starlink- which was also subsidized by the U.S. taxpayer and it was paid for those satellites Musk took great pride in saying HE has helped Ukraine but now wants someone else to pay those costs because the company, according to Musk, can't continue to "absorb" the costs. Like any good little Republican, he has no problem with allowing Ukraine to be given to Russia, as further evidenced by his calls for a peace treaty- Ukraine gives Russia 20% of its land (the most valuable 20%) and Russia will promise to never again invade. Putin has signed two formal agreements to not invade, but broke both promises, and signed an agreement to protect Ukraine. Another broken promise. Russia breaks treaties with Ukraine the way the U.S. did with native Americans. If you can afford a $50K loss, then that's great for you. But Tesla had the "first mover" advantage but will become a small player when it has to face all the EVs coming out now and in this decade...
