More accurately known as the story of Gilgamesh and the great flood- a story written long before the Hebrews adapted it to fit their needs. I'm not criticizing the "Old Testament", as Christians call it. That book is a great source of wisdom and comfort to those in need. Like most early religious texts, it borrowed heavily on older stories and there's nothing wrong with that and it added warnings of the Prophets to Israel, God's "Chosen One" according to early Judaism (and current? I'm not a Jew and can't speak for them).
