I've written a few SoC pieces but as with other writing, my biggest critic is my mind and its insistence on editing as I write.

I do enjoy it and may try a few minutes of meditation first and see if that makes it easier to calm my self-criticisms.

My most successful attempt is something I never published: I awoke from a dream and while not yet fully awake, I continued the story I was dreaming and everything came easily, the setting, characters, storyline and ending. It was a good, well-"written" story, but since it came to me so easily, I was afraid I may have read it elsewhere. Also, when I was fully awake, I no longer remembered many of the details and felt the "magic" of the story would be lost when my critical mind tried to "correct" it.

Thanks for sharing these useful writing tips.
