I'm the farthest thing from an atheist. I also know the "New" Testament has things in it that conflict with the Jewish Bible and that contradicts itself multiple times. And that the NT was not written by the Apostles to whom they were named. And that Jesus most likely never said anything about resurrecting. And that the part of the "Bible" to which you refer was written 100 years after Jesus was put to death by people who never met or followed him. And that in 326 AD Church bishops decided which stories, among thousands, would be considered "sacred". And that the ones chosen were to advance their agenda so they could stay in power and keep adherents in line and to keep collecting money.
Believe what you will, it makes no difference to me but does to God. Ever Paul, the Jew turned pagan, said that we don't have families and loved ones waiting to meet us in the next life, the one after death. Hell, the "Old Testament" that is used, in any one of multiple translations, says nothing about being judged until the end of time when we'll all be judged, not one by one, which is another lie made "truth" by the Church although it's a blatant lie that helped the early Church. The OT the Church uses isn't even the original one, the Jewish Bible.
And just where in any version of the Bible does it say Jesus will judge people or that it will be on a person-by-person basis? I've read and studied multiple translations but have never seen that claim. Perhaps your church uses something different than the already false one most churches use?
I'll still pray for you and all the other misled people because that's what Jesus would have me do. I will not, however, worship Jesus since he said, in no uncertain terms, that only God is worthy of worship. And he also said that we are all sons of God, Children of the Light, if we choose to be.
May God bless you in your spiritual growth and understanding. He will lead your footsteps , light your path, if you allow Him to do so.
