If you have a "near-death" experience and see a light or a tunnel, hat leads you into Heaven, and your dead family members, etc. and that is what you expected to see, then of course seeing what you expected will bring about a radical change in your life. It goes from mere intellectual belief to what you feel is truth because you experienced exactly what you thought you would at death. That still doesn't make it "true", just true to the one who experienced the NDE.
