I wouldn't dispute that he was racist and antisemitic. All white people are racist, despite ptotestions t the contrary. Can you provide facts that being those things make his work any less important? Does the fact that Henry Ford was a strong anti-semite mean that automobles are a bad thing and should be avoided ot that Michelango's work is of no value because he, like many great artists, was homosexual? Or that there was nothing redeeming about Alexander the Great, a homosexual and a racist? Or that Tom Jefferson's work, ideas, and writings are of no value because he owned slaves?
I think that tearing down any person of accomplishment due to their beliefs is to move backward, not forward and I, for one, prefer progress forward, not a dwelling on the bad things people did while alive. Neither Campbell, Ford, or Jefferson committed atrocities and mass muders against Jews (although slavery was a horror in its own right).
