I would humbly suggest viewing the entire film and then waiting a few days for the story to "gel" in your mind before dismissing it as "complete garbage" (in Dean's words). You may still feel the same way but will at least have viewed the entire film and have an honest basis for your dislike.

It is not an easy story to understand, let alone grasp its background social references on the speed at which modern life moves and confuses most of us.
