I thought the fact that an enemy of the Jews helped an injured Jew after other Jews passed him by is was Jesus way of illustrating that everyone is everyone else's neighbor. The second part of the one Commandment that must be followed: Love God and love your neighbor. If you don't love your neighbor then you don't love God.
