I think the 'ego' is an enemy.

Ego is crazy but ego isn’t an enemy. Ego’s got your back that’s why its place is the backseat. The ego becomes a problem when it starts imposing rules onto others.

I think the 'ego' is an enemy. It imposes rules on you and tries to limit your growth beyond needing it. And it can be powerful if allowed to have such power as to set rules on you and how you live your life.
