I may have assumed too much about your background but- if you studied theology of any kind, you studied religious beliefs about what is written to support about said God, not God. Hence, you studied biased materials written by men (not being biased against women but women didn't write those things you were taught) who have a vested interest in supporting what their religion claims to be true. If you were a devout Christian, it was because you were not taught truth and I'm happy for you that you came to your senses. "Context" is not a "buzzword" but if you believe that then you still believe much of what you learned in theology.

Look up the definition of "context" to better understand it because you seem to believe it only applies to those who question Christianity, which isn't true at all. Those who look at the 'Old Testament' and at Christianity in context are not the ones telling you to "knuckle under and stop asking questions". That comes from theologians.

I didn't assume baselessly that you don't understand the various contexts under which the group of stories collected by a self-appointed group of men 1,700 years ago collected into a codex and called it the Word of God but then changed 200 years later and called the Word of God, then changed again in the 16th century and called the Word of God; you made that refusal of context and interpretation clear in what you wrote.

Why do YOU baselessly assume I use neutral, sensible words such as "context" and "interpretation" as "dog whistles" to "hit you with " (your words, not mine) and I see a blatant bias in the fact that you consider those words "tiresome". I've read the "Bible" in multiple versions since I was six years old but by age of twelve had already realized how hypocritical Christianity is (and that there are two versions of Jesus used in the 'New Testament' and that the Christian God is not the true God but rather the false "God" of the Pharisees. And that Jesus taught of a different God, the one true God. I studied religion in university- not theology, religion. I clearly don't have all the answers and freely admit that. I doubt any human has all the answers as to what God is, but I am sure God is not the Christian version or the Islamic version or the version put forth as the true God by any organized religion.

I apologize that I "struck a nerve" in you but your anger is your issue to deal with, not mine.

May God be with you and calm your anger at yourself.
