I have an issue with 'divinatory practices': by using Tarot cards, etc. you may well see what the future holds, if only in a vague sense. But I believe doing so limits what the universe can bring to you.
And, as Richard Bach wrote: "To limit the Is, is the greatest of 'sins'."
I believe to the depth of my heart (and based on experience) that the universe (God, or whatever name one chooses) does have a plan for each of us and that interfering with said plan is to harm oneself. I'm not smart enough to know what is best for me but trust the universe does. As with the Tao, I simply go with the flow the universe provides and accept what comes, knowing in my heart it's what is best for me even when I don't believe at the time that it truly is.
Another great story, Graham, thanks for sharing.
