I fully~ agree but want to add that Jihad actually means one's war within, a battle in the heart to accept Allah. It never meant external warfare of any kind but, as you bring up, greed and the desire for power and control has twisted the true meaning of the word into something close to opposite of its meaning to battle one's own demons within one's own heart in order to know Allah ("The God"- singular) more closely.

Just as Jesus said about the speck in your neighbor's eye versus the log in your own. Get your own "house" in order before you try to correct another's.
