Great story, James, thanks for sharing- it will be in my 'to read again' list. But I don't believe in random chance: everything that happens to you is a direct result of your own actions. And recognizing that helps you change your current actions and become a better person.

I'm not saying that hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, or fires are directly caused by an individua's actions. But choosing to live in a place prone to such events WAS that person's action, hence the direct reaction.to said person's past action.
