From 2008, yes. I've long wondered why Democrats didn't make use of the filibuster when not in control of the Senate the same way Republicans have. They could've stopped much of what the previous guy (well, Mitch was in control then) did, or at least get something needed in return by using the tacit blackmail that is the filibuster.

I still go with Vote Blue but you're right that simply voting them in isn't all that is required to get them to do what is wanted.

Too many people think 'I voted' and that's all they need to do. I think we've had a few spoiled generations that don't realize that keeping a democracy is not a one-time effort; it's ongoing work and always has been. And now we're seeing the step-by-step destruction of the democracy in which we live. Many people will be in for a real shock because they think a vote is all that's needed. I hope generations coming of age now will at least take a brief look at American history and see the ongoing work demanded to keep a democratic government from becoming despotic.
