As corrupt as Ukraine is, it still needs to be kept out of Russian control for multiple reasons- the oil, gas, coal, iron, and other resources under the soil in eastern Ukraine as well as the grain produced there- It would put the Kremlin in a much better position to use the threat of withholding food from any nation, group of nations, or dare question Putin the Great. And if Ukraine falls to Russia, more nations will be next in line.

Yes, Ukraine's governments are and have been corrupt- they use the American style of capitalism, after all.
