Different words that say the same thing as something either Biblical or simply old wisdom (I honestly don't recall where I found this quote but suspect strongly that it's from the Bible, probably the OT but just as likely Eastern wisdom, Buddhist, perhaps):
"Set thy heart upon thy work, but never on its reward. Work not for a reward, but never cease to do thy work.".
Wise words indeed.
As for daily life I'd recommend going with your first impression, your "gut" feeling. Couldn't get those front row seats you wanted? Then accept that because it is in your best interest to not have had them. God, the Universe or whatever name you use, works for your best, always. Don't fight it, just accept and you'll be happier and better off in the long run.
Just accept what comes your way and you won't be led the wrong direction. Ever.
