"Do you see this happening?"

I don't know why the concerns of small town America wouldn't carry the same weight in discussions. If the "big table" means in Washington, then that's what your Congressman is supposed to do for his home base, know the concerns and speak for his or her constituents. For you.

They should hold town halls so they can hear thoughts or suggestions from the people who put them into Office. If not, they should probably be asked to hold meetings and citizens can follow up on what the people of their district want accomplished.

Your representative's office can be called and anyone can express his or her opinion on any cultural or political issue. And that's as it should be.

Unfortunately, too many who get elected just use the power gained to advance their own political careers. And only their voters can do anything about it.

So, yes, I could see it happening. But that can only begin locally.
