America has been dumbed down and I believe that was a deliberate process and it may be too late to change it. People have to change first and I’m embarrassed that most of my cousins, on my late father’s side of he family, are hardcore Trump supporters. Interestingly, my mother’s side of the family have despised Trump just as they did Reagan.

Different upbringings, I guess. My mother was terrified in 2016 that Trump might get elected but, in my normal naïve outlook, I assured her he wouldn’t. Then he did. And since that day she’s prayed he wouldn’t be reelected. And he wasn’t, and that was a good thing for all citizens, including his deplorables, although the majority of them will never admit it. A majority of all Republicans still believe that Democrats somehow “stole” the election from the rightful President. 84 million voters and a nationwide conspiracy with every single person involved never leaking the secret would’ve been necessary for that to happen, yet they still believe it could’ve happened. I’d consider that evidence of the “dumbing down of Americans” to which you referred.
