"Also communities require like-mindedness? " The only comminity that I know that would fit that description, even considering Jonesville, is The Borg."
You clearly don't recall the early 'Christian Church did to heretics (those who dared think for themselves) or the Medieval 'Christian' Church and what it did to 'heretics', such as Galileo, or the Inquisition or Joanne de' Arc being burned to death for speaking against the Church or the 'witch' hunts in Europe and early American colonies.
True spirituality is between God and a person, not between God and a community of like-minded individuals- the latter is called 'organized religion'. So, I stand by my statement. The only thing that requires 'communities' is 'organized religion'. And I will apologize if that offends your religious beliefs...
"A true spiritual experience is always shared". Yes, you're right about that but it is shared with God, the Divine, the All, Allah, Yahweh, the Universe, or whatever term you might use to refer to God. Not with communities.
If you follow the Bible and anything to do with what Jesus taught then you'd know that he taught that everyone has their own experience, connection with God, no 'community 'needed.
Of course, many great teachers throughout history have taught a version of the same thing so it isn't restricted to Christianity (nor am I, although I do attempt to live my life in the manner Jesus taught, which would be anathema in most Christian churches).
