Agree with your first point but the second, not at all.
The "hero's journey" applies to all people, not just white men. All the "Biblical" 'heroes' had the same hero's story and they were semites, not white, and many of them were women.
Ever heard of "Black Moses"? His story is the classic hero's journey and he was, as the name suggests, black, as in, African. I admire your writing, Johnathon, but I think the premise of this piece is a bit of a stretch. Still enjoyable reading, though.
