A Progressive Case for a Biden Presidency

His policies seem more progressive than centrist

On November 3rd, 2020, you will make the most consequential vote of your life. The choice will be between the Democratic candidate on one side and Donald Trump on the other. And I doubt Trump will even be a consideration for any honest progressive or left-leaning voter.

Currently, it appears all but certain Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee. And Biden is progressive. Pragmatic and fiscally conservative, yes, but still progressive.

He isn’t as far left as Bernie but is any other candidate? Let’s face it: Bernie is Bernie. He is one of a kind and has earned a great deal of respect. Including my own.

And if that Democrat is Joe Biden, then that is who we get. Maybe not your ideal but also not Trump, who uses his mitch-puppet to block any legislation of importance to progressives.

Would Joe Biden block progressive legislation?

He already has a progressive set of policies of his own to propose to Congress.

And Bernie supporters, if Joe Biden wins the nomination, we could really use your help to stop Trump. Biden is not Bernie, but he will at least make progressive change possible. And Senator Sanders would have the opportunity to amend…
